The Effect of Stress on the Body

Stress can have significant effects on the musculoskeletal system, leading to various symptoms and conditions such as:

  • Muscle Tension and Pain

  • Joint Problems

  • Posture Changes

  • Weakening Muscles

Ways to mitigate stress on the body:

  • Regular chiropractic adjustments

  • Practice stress-reducing techniques such as pilates, yoga, or deep-breathing exercises

  • Get enough sleep

  • Maintain a healthy diet

Stretching & Strengthening

Gentle stretching exercises such as knee-to-chest stretches, cat-cow pose, and standing quadriceps stretches can help with stress on the musculoskeletal system. Regular walking and yoga can also help reduce overall stress. Before trying any of these stretches or exercises, be sure to consult with Dr. Tarry to determine the best course of action.
